gratuitous front porch rocking chair smoky mountain bed head I had a very good week that consisted mostly of: quiet mornings reading on the porch and watching the mountain fog burn off before everyone else wakes up taking the girls down the hill for a quick ride on a pony a day spent at the river with the girls swimming, sunning, tubing, kayaking, and snorkeling casual dinners with lots of family, fun stories and jokes late into the night as we watched the sunset and the fireflies emerge sleep and repeat We have met the whole family there for a week almost every year since Finn was born.  It is strange but wonderful to see the memories piling up, and the girls are already talking about when we will be going back. It will take us a few days to get used to being home again.

  • quiet mornings reading on the porch and watching the mountain fog burn off before everyone else wakes up
  • taking the girls down the hill for a quick ride on a pony
  • a day spent at the river with the girls swimming, sunning, tubing, kayaking, and snorkeling
  • casual dinners with lots of family, fun stories and jokes late into the night as we watched the sunset and the fireflies emerge
  • sleep and repeat

We have met the whole family there for a week almost every year since Finn was born.  It is strange but wonderful to see the memories piling up, and the girls are already talking about when we will be going back. It will take us a few days to get used to being home again.
