We had a rough morning yesterday.

One more month until the time change. Until then, we will have a dark walk to the bus stop each morning. This week we reached the point at which even the Civil Twilight occurs after the bus picks up the girls.
Last night at dinner we talked about the sunrise and sunset, whether christmas occurs in autumn or winter, the solstice, and the effect of recent changes to daylight savings time on trick-or-treating.

We usually walk to and from the bus stop, but yesterday, we picked the girls up in the van. They had a substitute bus driver who got lost; they were thirty minutes late. Also, always, always take a book or you will wind up taking pictures of the power lines looking wobbly through the rainy windshield to kill the time.
