Every Thursday is pancake day for the girls. Last week when she was eating these s’mores pancakes, Fallie said that she knows Thursday hasn’t always been pancake day, but she can’t remember what else it might have been before.

Thursday is pancake day for the girls, but in honor of today’s rare southern snowstorm, we are celebrating with a special edition pancake day. This is only my second time using famous amos chocolate chip cookies as an ingredient, but they are already Finn’s favorite pancake ingredient.

Thursday is pancake day for the girls, but this week our Thursday agenda is full so we are having a special preëmptive proäctive Wednesday edition pancake day.
For those playing along at home, we are about two thirds of the way through the candy that the girls contributed to the pancake collection immediately following Halloween. The Almond Coconut Chocolate® candies featured in these special edition pancakes have been transmogrified or wonkaed into the blue “pieces” of the type usually associated with Reese. Without the benefit of a extraterrestrial spokesentity or some extensive tweaking from the product engineering team, I do not expect them to be available in the pieces form for long, but I am told that they do taste good in pancakes so enjoy them while they last.

Every Thursday is pancake day for the girls. We are now in week two of the post-halloween we use the whole buffalo pancake season. It is a grim chocolate covered death march, but I think I am up for the challenge.
This weeks pancakes (above) contained a skull girl selected and prepared blend of ingredients with a bold mix of textures.
Last week I prepared the notorious “undead medley” pancakes (not shown) which included chocolate representatives of all of your tier-one categories of corporeal undead: mummies, vampires, and of course zombies. Some people didn’t think I would be able to create a harmonious dish out of these disparate elements, but I think they turned out well.

Thursday is pancake day for the girls. We are officially in the post easter candy cache depletion season. I have to admit that I tried to skip the peeps pancakes this year, but Finn and Fallie were not having it. As anyone who has ever eaten one knows, peeps are almost, but not quite, marshmallows. When exposed to heat they turn into a substance that can only be described as a toxic !@#% mess that gets on everything and doesn’t want to get off. Some of the peeps pancakes also had chocolate chips, which look like perfect little rabbit droppings, but I am sparing you that picture.

Today was a special end of spring break Sunday edition pancake day. We didn’t travel anywhere this week, but we had a busy week with one museum day, two easter egg hunts, one golden prize winning egg, one Alice in Wonderland, one albino-snake wrangler, two sleepovers, one reunion with an old Montessori school chum, two dog-sitting gigs, one brownie baking session, one movie night viewing of Blade (Finn cried when Whistler died), multiple creek exploring tree climbing sessions, one lost tooth, and one buckle fracture.
I used the last of the brownies to make the pancakes today, and while they are not the prettiest pancakes ever, I am told they were yummy.

Thursday is pancake day for the girls.
First you grab one three musketeers bar a day from the communal candy bowl, but instead of eating it, you stash it in the freezer. After the last candy bar is in the freezer for a week, you take them all out and give each one a wack with the smooth side of a meat tenderizer. After you snip off one end of the wrapper, the pieces that you pour into the plastic storage container will range in consistency from smooth sugary powder to large nougaty chunks. This goes back into the freezer overnight. When this is added to pancakes the next morning, the smallest pieces will melt and caramelize, but the big pieces will just warm up into sweet pockets of goodness in the middle of a delicious breakfast dish.

Thursday is pancake day for the girls. As one of her tenth birthday presents, Finn’s grandmother gave her some customized candy covered chocolate treats that featured pictures of Finn and slogans like “Finn Rocks!” This week’s pancakes featured some of those candies, or as Fallie put it, “we are eating Finn’s face for breakfast.”

Thursday is pancake day for the girls. They have the next four days off, so today at school they are celebrating Valentine’s day at school. The holiday candy surplus is already accumulating, so today I made the pancakes using approximately eight pre-Valentine mini-twix bars. Caramel based pancake supplements are tricky and prone to burning, but I successfully navigated these technical complications and the pancakes turned out very well. It was a good morning.

Thursday is usually pancake day, but our Thanksgiving travel schedule is still uncertain, so I have scheduled an emergency Sunday pancake day to avoid accusations of neglect from the girls.

Thursday is always pancake day, but we have six gallons of Halloween candy to eat, so I decided to surprise the girls with a special Saturday edition.
After breakfast, the girls scattered to work on their various projects while Floyd and I sat on the couch, drank coffee, and watched this week’s episode of The Office. The demonstration of recent developments in the martial arts had me laughing so hard, I spilled coffee on myself. In any case, my slightly scalded thigh did not stop me from having a very good morning.
